The Weekend Beatles Fans Mark Their Year By:

Abbey Road On The River began with a simple epiphany: Beatles tribute bands attract big crowds. And since we began our festival in Cleveland Ohio in August, 2002 we have  presented over 250 incredible  Beatles bands  from all over the world to play for over a quarter million  delighted fans. Bands have come from Japan, Russia, Sweden, Norway, Germany, Holland, Italy,Czech Republic, Slovakia, Greece, Scotland, England, and this year we will welcome our first bands from France and Argentina.

Special  guests have included George's sister Louise, original Beatle Pete Best, Rock 'n Roll Hall of Famers Terry Sylvester of the Hollies and Jefferson Starship, Denny Laine from the Moody Blues and Wings,  and this year coming up in May, Herman's Hermits featuring and starring Peter Noone,  Leon Russell, Peter Asher (from Peter and Gordon), Laurence Juber from Wings, and  former Apple CEO Tony Bramwell

For the first three years of the festival 2002 through 2004 the  event resided in Cleveland,  but in late 2004 we met with representatives from the city of Louisville and decided to move the entire festival to Louisville,  and what a smart move that was. While we missed Cleveland, the event really matured in Louisville and became the signature Memorial Day weekend festival for that community. It allowed us to develop a close working relationship with government, tourism, schools, museums, the arts community, local businesses, and its incredible loving Beatles fans.

In 2009 we added the Washington DC market to our festival portfolio and began a three-year labor day weekend run at the spectacular Gaylord National Resort in National Harbor MD.  But Cleveland  kept tugging at our heartstrings and we knew that someday we would have to bring the festival back to where it  all began in this Labor Day weekend August 30-September 1 Abbey Road on the REiver will return to its original home,  Jacobs Pavilion at the Nautica entertainment  Complex on the West Bank of the Cuyahoga River in beautiful downtown Cleveland Ohio.

Abbey Road on the River is more than a place now; it has become for thousands of fans a happy state of mind!

OUR MISSION STATEMENT:

Because John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr made the world a happier place, we promise to extend their vision by creating a welcoming and carefree environment for their fans to come together with friends and family to experience their gift of music, written and performed with peace, love, and non-violence at its heart.

We further pledge to emulate their gentleness and compassion, and as John and George lived on their own terms, so too, do Paul and Ringo continue to live in good health and communicate their unique talents and love for humanity.

It is with great respect and gratitude that we celebrate their music and the spirit that continues to bring us all together.

In their names, we pledge to have fun.
