Ep 19: Something About Opening for the Beatles with the Cyrkle
In the latest episode of Something Will Happen, Melissa talks with Don Dannemann of the Cyrkle. Don is one of the two original members that will be performing at Abbey Road on the River this May. Don shares the history of the Cyrkle and what it was like to work with Beatles’ manager Brian Epstein.
Don begins by going over the current bandmates and how the Cyrkle revival came about. He then goes back and tells the story of how the Cyrkle originally began from a few college kids jamming together at a party. That small college band was able to impress the right people and Don soon found himself in Brian Epstein’s limo discussing a potential deal.
That meeting led to being signed and managed by Brian Epstein himself. Don tells all about that time and his experience in the band. He explains how the Cyrkle got their name from none other than John Lennon. He talks about how they had the opportunity to go on tour and open for the Beatles. He shares several stories of meeting each Beatle and even tells how the Beatles once opened for the Cyrkle.
Don also gives some insight into what they plan to bring to their performance at Abbey Road on the River this year. We truly can’t wait to see this band perform. They will put on a great show! Don’t forget to buy your tickets, it’s almost here!!
