Come Together
…with Abbey Road on the River in Jeffersonville, IN.
Did You Know?
The Beatles broke up five decades ago, but you would never know it…
In late September, The Beatles released a remixed version of its Abbey Road album, and it reached the No. 3 spot on Billboard.
The group’s music has been streamed 1.7 billion times in 2019.
Thirty percent of that streaming comes from those age 18 to 24, followed by 25- to 29-year-olds, at 17%.
The group has kept the 50-year-old brand popular with streaming music services, Sirius XM radio and the “Beatles: RockBand” video game.
In 2006, Cirque du Soleil premiered the show “Love″ in Las Vegas. Its soundtrack album, which featured newly mixed versions of Beatles songs, went on to sell 2 million copies, according to the Recording Industry Association of America. The production is still running to this day.
Three years later the group’s full original music catalog — whose worth has been estimated to be over $1 billion — was given a sonic upgrade and reissued, and within five days of their debut in stores, sales totaled more than 2.25 million copies internationally.
The Beatles’ popularity is not slowing down and neither is Abbey Road on the River!
We believe that to be a truly successful community event, an event must:
Reflect the spirit of the community; Abbey Road On The River is a perfect fit in a city whose team and “can do” spirit is building bridges, parks, playgrounds, art, restaurants, hotels, and apartments;
Be a well-attended multi-day annual event; sponsor investment appreciates rather than expires;
Abbey Road On The River is in its 22nd year and it’s 7th year at Big 4 Park;
Create an economic benefit; according to Southern Indiana Tourism, Abbey Road will inject over $1,500,000 into our local economy;
Be age appropriate, safe, clean, and secure; we are now enjoying three generations of Beatle fans, and our event is praised for its safety record, cleanliness, and affordability for families, including free admission for fans ages 21 years and under;
Be newsworthy; annually generates over $1,000,000 in measured media;
Be easy to understand and fun; no one has to ask what it is, and everyone has a great time! Say “Beatles festival” anywhere in Southern Indiana and Louisville, and everyone knows it’s Abbey Road On The River.
